Fifty-three poems scheme in a book. A poem relentlessly plows our glaciers of solitude and love, our seas of loss and nostalgia. There is a poem for the frozen city in your heart. One for the easy prairies. A poem for the tales of their lonely afternoons you hear. A poem for the enigmas of love you bear. A poem for our living experience that is the labyrinth of illusions thrown around us. And a poem for life that makes itself known to those listening patiently to the summer earth whistling under the rain.
The Memory Of The Dustwhistler Poems nishith singh Books
The name of the book, The Memory of the Dustwhistler, alone is so well thought out that it tickled me to think of what was in store for me on the inside of Nishith's wonderfully covered book. When I read his first poem I realized instantly that he was a great and wonderful poet; one who writes with great metaphors that draw into the reader and allows them to feel his words. He is inspiring, he is spiritual yet waves his magical wand over his words and sets me in a place of awe. His talent with forming certain words together and giving me pictures of them, almost like an artist painting a picture was overwhelming in the spirit of his words. For example in the one line where he wrote about a cat coiled up in the darkness left me knowing that the cat was listening, watching.I would recommend anyone who loves good poetry and good writing to buy this book. It is something I shall keep forever and reflect back over from time to time.
This author/poet is deserves a five star and I am giving it to him, and I must add, I don't give a 5 star unless I see it as one.

The Memory Of The Dustwhistler Poems nishith singh Books Reviews
Great play of words and thoughts. If you enjoy poetry, this collection is for you. It would not disappoint you.
depressing but thought provoking
A very enjoyable collection of poems.
There is some humour and some emotional works to keep the reader interested.
Well worth the read.
This is a thoughtful collection of poems that wade through the banal and everyday fragilities of mind and body in search of wonder. There is an ode to mothers and women,as well humor in lines. Motifs of time, mirrors and memory are inter-twined with emotional realities to create interesting metaphors. Recommended to the readers of poetry that seek poetic lines on universal themes.
I stumbled across this very randomly and had no expectations. However if I had had expectations they would have been wildly exceeded.
A fresh, modern, unique voice and the subject matter spoke to me.
I have a new favorite poet.
Nishith Singh's poetry is filled with observations about mundane objects (roses, faces, mirrors) that become, in his imaginative recreation of reality, intriguing symbols inviting readers to tease out meaning. Themes of life, love, aging, absence, solitude, memory, nostalgia and death emerge from images of family (especially mothers), lovers, politics, natural disasters, and poverty. The poems are tinged with cynicism but also humor and are filled with heartfelt sympathy and love for all of us journeying through life, trying to cope with exterior and interior worlds we struggle to understand. Poetry, Singh understands and articulates here, should and can guide us in that venture.
Nishith's writing is like looking at a painting; a myriad of words, a rush of sentences , sometimes simple and sometimes abstract and if you are like me you will be reaching for that Webster app a lot . But if you stay with it long enough , just as the artist's technique, brush strokes, expression, style and imagination emerge and make that painting a masterpiece, so will you find meaning and beauty in his poetry.
